Protecting Your House From Washer Vibration

The attached article is very timely in view of the number of concerns we receive about washer vibration.

Most concerns, if not all, regard washers that are located on the second floor of a home, or where the washer is installed on a plywood platform.
Washers located on a second floor home will cause vibration. When a washer is installed in these conditions the laundry room floor should be reinforced, professionally, by a carpenter using 1” plywood properly screwed and glued to the original 5/8” flooring. In a few instances, very heavy, barn rubber mats can help eliminate vibration –“IF”- the floor can be reached from the basement to properly reinforce this area.
Not even a Samsung with VRT can avoid the issue of vibration in these type of installations.
